Meet the team for 2012 - Team ORRC welcome you all

OK, so 2012 is well under way. Hopefully you have all shook off the excessive consumption of Baby Cham and Turkey? I thought it would be a cool idea to share with you a few introductions. The team over at Off-Road Radio Control has recently expanded to incorporate a few new characters. Without further a do...I am happy to introduce you to the guys who will be working hard this year to bring you all the very best in off-road news, reviews, and super exclusive interviews :)

Stuart 'Style One' Styles - Journalist and Blog writer

That's me folks!! When I'm not racing off-road with my fellow warriors I am mostly glued to a keyboard or camera. My job is to provide readers with clean, fresh, and exciting content as fast as my little fingers will type. You can also catch me over at www.oople.com writing articles in my very own section called 'Under The Lid'. I hope to see you all track side very soon. I'm normally the one dancing around the racers with a camera strapped to my face and a pencil behind each ear looking like an extra from Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas!. Come and say Hi :)

Steve White - Review test pilot and designer

This is Steve, the other founder member of our YouTube project Team Black Country RC. He is responsible for designing the logos and artwork you will begin to see associated with this blog and other off-road related ventures we will be involved in during 2012. Steve also works at the sharp end of the RC industry as a sales assistant and technical adviser at Wheel Spin Models, Europe's biggest model shop. He likes eating chips with red sauce and has been known to utter the words 'I'm sure this is made from fairy eyelashes' :) Steve will also be co-piloting some of the upcoming test vehicles that we will be reviewing shortly.

Dave Williams - Review car electrical technician and test pilot

Dave is our resident electrics expert. What he cant fit into a buggy was never designed to be in there! He will be helping us all make our cars look neat, whilst also avoiding the nasty sensation that we just cooked another ESC. Dave will also be co-piloting our latest review cars at a track near you. Dave eats pork scratchings like they are a health remedy and is also partial to a tiny measure of cider...but not while he is holding the soldering iron!!

Stuart Macdonald - Sponsored driver and resident comedian

Stuart is a micro racing star who never fails to create an absolute side-splitting debacle in any pit area he is allowed to reside in. Stuart is so funny and welcoming that many racers actually miss their race due to laughing so much with him. On the track Stuart races 1/16th scale off-road and we currently supply him with some rather cool custom parts for his Losi Mini 8ight. Stuart will be promoting our products, providing some wonderful carvery meals, and of course making us all roll around with laughter during the 2012 campaign. If you get a chance to spend some time with Stuart at a micro national do it!! He is a legend :)

Andy Jones - Sponsored driver and consultant

Andy is our second sponsored driver who currently has support with custom wheels and other cool bits that we are developing ready for release later this year. A real long-serving racing legend, Andy is super helpful by providing important feedback for each project we create. Andy can mostly be found giggling along to the japes of Stuart Macdonald or dominating off-road races all over the country with his Losi Mini 8ight or his Schumacher Cat SX3. Andy also enjoys a brisk squash....not the water based cordial but the racket sport :)

Darren Johnson - Club Chairman, BRCA liaison and ORRC supporter

This is Daz. He is the understanding soul who lets us all put his reputation on the line every Wednesday night when we race around a community hall trying to break the sound barrier whilst eating savoury snacks and having a jolly good laugh. Without Daz the team would not have met up and got the chance to work together. We salute you Daz for putting up with all the ups and downs of running our favourite off-road club, always supporting what we do, and helping us along with the hobby that we all love. Daz is also known for his fast driving skills and tidy race controlling. We affectionately call him 'Thermolator' due to his uncanny skill of causing anything he touches to leap into thermal shut down. Long live Dazzler, along with the other Telford Hot Trax crew, he has been an amazing help for all the ORRC team.

So there you have it. A quick introduction to some of the faces that will be working on this blog, over at the new oOple forum section, and generally making RC accessible, fun, and ultimately competitive over the coming year. Stay tuned for more information on each team members adventures as the ORRC tour bus pulls into a track near you very soon.
