BRCA - British Winter Open 2012 - The buggy report

During my recent travels around the off-road winter racing scene, I have had several amazing opportunities to get really 'up close and personal' with some of the top off-road racers cars. I recently spent a really fun day in the pit area at the BRCA British Winter Open that was hosted by Silverstone Model Car Club. The event took place at a really well appointed venue that resides in the small village of Moulton near Northampton. Moulton College is set in truly epic rolling Northamptonshire country side, with excellent facilities and a roomy and well lit sports hall that played host to the event.

I thought I would take this opportunity to grab some really cool photos of some of the cars that were raced during this 2 day event. Day 1 saw the 2wd buggy class take to the carpet and polished floor track. Check out some of the gorgeously prepared cars that raced during this event.

The Centro C4.1 was well represented on day 1

TLR 22 sports a beautiful KifoPaint shell and all the added bling

Schumacher's Cougar SV was all over the pit area

TLR 22 of Darren Bloomefield sits ready for action

TLR 22T of Paul Upton, not raced during the event but check out that wonderful paint job!!

Schumacher Cat SX3 of John Spencer sits awaiting day 2

This Durango 210 sporting JConcepts 'Finnisher' shell looked hot!

Kev Lee from Inside Line Racing and Kyosho had some lovely paint on his shells, this is his 4wd waiting for day 2

Tom Cockerill was piloting the brand new Schumacher Cougar SV2

Tony Bishop's Centro C4.1 looked really nice on and off the track

Some new paint for Phil Sleigh's duo of cars. This is his B44.1 ready for day 2

Tony 'Rudebits' Evdoka's Vega shell, colour coded stickers and all :)

Another Cougar SV, this time with its 'hat off' showing the guts

It's like looking up the barrel of a loaded shotgun! Phil Sleighs C4.1

Under the lid of a Centro C4.1. Sausage roll not included in the kit ;)

The Schumacher Cougar SV2 of team driver Grant Williams

Centro C4.1 sporting a cool purple scheme (I like purple)

Durango 210's were there in force, all of them looking mean!

Hold on a minute!! Have I just discovered the secret to the C4.1's success, sausage roll  saddle powered!

Tom Cockerill's Cougar SV2 with 'it's wig pushed back' ;)
I would like to thank all the drivers who gave me their valuable time during the event. I am currently working on several new features that may include a deeper look into some of the cars you have seen in this photo report. It is always really inspiring to see how much effort people put into their cars not just driving fast....but looking awesome as well. Stay tuned for a special feature on the Schumacher Cougar SV2...hot on the release of this new 2WD beast!
