Midlands based off-road indoor racing club Telford Hot Trax have recently moved to a new location. The move was prompted by their previous venue being listed for demolition late last year. With the club management being a forward thinking bunch, they set about securing the new hall location that is only about 5 miles from the clubs previous home in Telford, Shropshire. Racers attending the club on a weekly basis have steadily risen over the last six months, with most Wednesday night meetings seeing 25 drivers attending for some carpet and polished floor mid-week action. Club manager Darren Johnson is keen to see all abilities and age groups racing together in a fun, relaxed, and cheap environment. The clubs recent success with hosting Round 2 of the BRCA Micro Scale National series has really given both club members and local team drivers a big boost.
We caught up with Darren to hear his thoughts on how 2012 will develop for the club:
"Our new venue has allowed us to run a more relaxed club night, and has been welcomed by all our racers. We are really excited to see young and old competing together. Hot Trax welcome all classes of off-road electric vehicle from 1/10th to 1/18th. I see 2012 being a really enjoyable year for our rising membership.Wednesday race meetings at Telford have never been so popular, so come along."
